The subject provides a deeper understanding of ‘Power’, ‘Interest’, and ‘Resources’ in society. It also includes the study of elections, political parties, party systems, and various forms of government. Thus, Political Science helps students to understand the functioning of political systems at local, national, and global levels.

The Department of Political Science, established in June 1962, has a rich academic tradition. It offers undergraduate courses and strives to develop critical thinking, analytical ability, and civic awareness among students.
